About the Pattern: Inspired by my love of striped tops, I decided to create a fuss-free summer top using my favorite linen yarn. It’s as easy to incorporate into a wardrobe as it is to knit, which is the way summer tops should be. Waters is a simple shape, with a high neckline in front and a scoop back. The shape was inspired by another summer pattern of mine called Zinone, which has a regular scooped neckline. Some knitters had taken to wearing it backwards to create a scoop back, and I wanted to intentionally create something like that, with more deliberate shaping, like a pinch of short-row shaping at the shoulders and a shallow scoop at the front. The end result is Waters, a nice seamless summer top.
Last Note: Most of my patterns are named after movie and tv-related people like directors, actors, and characters, and this one is named after John Waters, because it reminded me of something a character in one of his movies might wear.
